General Review

  1. Description and Imagery: The author does a great job painting the picture of the main character and his family throughout the story, placing us right in the thick of what they were going through.
  2. Relatability of MC: Every man wants nothing more than to protect his family, centering a story of survival around that concept resonates with every male that reads this story and any woman that relates to the concept of being a wife to a faithful husband.
  3. Pacing: The story progresses at the correct pace, quick enough for a short story but slow enough to not lose the reader. The passage of time is appropriate and the author knew what they were doing which made this story such a sweet read.
  4. Perspective: This short story is written in third person which allows the reader to see everything and connect with multiple characters. Giving just enough information to make them real people while keeping the story lean and mean, leaving the reader wanting more.
  5. Vibes: This short story is a blessing for someone like me. It was short, sweet, entertaining, and left me feeling accomplished for finishing a work in less than an hour!

Personal Review

This short story was nothing short of awesome! I couldn’t recommend it enough if I tried!

Short stories are making a comeback and this author is living proof of that. This one is for the people that are too busy to read a six hundred page novel or seven book series and just want something to get them through the day.

This is especially perfect for people who get a high off of finishing things rather than the journey of reading it (you know who you are).

Awesome short story and looking forward to seeing more from this author!
