A blazing echo of distant battles 
Around this world I’ve roamed 
A fire ignited from the shadows. 
When Kings and crowns are crushed into dust, 
Where the chains of the oppressed hum with memory 
Where voices rose up in harmony from graves unquiet 

I have walked slowly through the burning fields, 
Heard the war cries of the nameless, 
I’ve witnessed empires rise then crumble in the tide. 
Only for new hands to shape the ruins, 
For their old ghosts to find new flesh. 

So, here I stand before you, again. 
A land once forged by the rebels' flames. 
Was it freedom you sought, or silence you mistook for peace, 
While wolves feasted on your hard-fought dreams 
You let your banners fray, your voices dull. 
You traded steel for whispers, fire for complacency. 
Did you mistake a gilded leash for liberty? 
Each move, a game of Kings, 
Sacrifices played upon a board unseen, 
The pieces continue to shift, but the check remains. 

Tell me, children of the restless nation, 
Do you hear the whispers of my anthem? 
A requiem of the fallen, a chorus of the lost 
The promises once sworn, now shattered 
Does my melody sear beneath your skin? 

“No child. . . this weight isn’t yours to bear” 
Yet still 
I press this ember into your palms 
The inferno is not your doing 
But this fire will not die with me. 
It will find you, as it once found me. . .
