Seven Story Internship Program

We understand how hard it is to gain experience in the writing and publishing industry. Many young and aspiring writers often don’t know where to start in terms of establishing themselves and their writing careers.

As a way to help new (and established) writers and creatives gain experience, we are pleased to unveil and internship program!

What is Seven Story Internship?

Seven Story Internship is a seven week program that allows aspiring writers, editors, artists, and creatives to work with us in various aspects of our organization to gain experience they can take with them into the writing industry.

This program is volunteer-based. For the people who have a passion for storytelling and are dedicated to establishing themselves as writers and creatives as well as helping others do the same. In this program, we go over a series of aspects such as editing, publishing, marketing and distribution, dialogue, basic principles of storytelling, and much more.

Volunteers will also have the option of enlisting for our temp-to-hire system which extends their internship for another seven weeks totaling to fourteen for one of our staff or admin positions.

This internship is perfect for college students and people who have a little extra time on their hands that want to contribute to authors and artists reaching their desired audiences.

Seven Story Publishing’s Temp-to-hire

This little addition to our program is essentially an extension to the internship. It too will be volunteer based and is for those who believe in Seven Story Publishing’s cause and want to contribute in building something extraordinary.

This is also a chance for those who have worked with us in the past and those that want to work with us for the foreseeable future.

week 6

the future of seven story publishing

This is the portion of the program where we ask interns to submit stories or art, or both, (free of charge) to any magazine of their choosing. This is where we also ask which position they would like to fill within the company given all they’ve learned about it.

We do this by giving interns a questionnaire to assess their strengths and weaknesses and to gauge their experience level relative to the writing and publishing industry.

Now, you may ask why we don’t do this early on in the program. The simple answer is that not everyone is dedicated to the cause the same way we are and to expect people to care as much about Seven Story Publishing as the staff we currently have, especially the Founder, is unrealistic.

We understand this program won’t be for everyone and would never ask that it should. It is for the people who see the work we do at Seven Story Publishing and want to be a part of something bold, creative, and extraordinary.

week 7

Bold. Creative. Extraordinary.

This is where we would wrap up Seven Story Internship and gear-up with those that want to continue into the Temp-to-hire portion.

Those who solely came for the internship but have other aspirations are free to opt out and will receive a letter of recommendation written by the Founder personally for any and all of their future endeavors within the writing and publishing industry.

As for those who wish to continue to Temp-to-hire, the Founder of the company will speak with future employees about the position they wish to fulfill, what Seven Story Publishing can offer them, and what they hope to achieve while working for Seven Story Publishing.

The whole week will be dedicated to one-on-one meetings with the Founder (or applicable team leads) to assess whether they are the right fit for Seven Story Publishing and vice versa.

Temp-to hire Program

Seven Story Publishing’s temp-to-hire program will last for seven weeks. This is where we help develop aspiring writers and artists as well as have them fill-in certain positions within Seven Story Publishing to test their abilities, industry knowledge, creativity, and more.

Each position will be trained for one week within the temp-to-hire program and will participate in 7 weekly meetings with the Founder (or applicable team leads) to further develop in their position.
