I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity that Seven Story Publishing has offered me. Never having done an interview before I thought I would be nervous, however, it was comforting and allowed me to talk and think about my books. It encouraged me to attempt to be more social and engage with a wide audience within the bookish community.

What I appreciate most was to be given a platform where I can get my stories out and see if people would be interested in listening to my story. This reinforces my deeply held beliefs that conversation, community, and stories can make an impact on the world for the better.

Again, thank you to Seven Story Publishing for creating a platform so authors like me can express their lives, wants, and desires in a safe place. And thank you for giving me the opportunity to show my love for stories. –Delilah Curley, Author of Throne of Affairs

{Seven Story Publishing} was great  to work with – responsive, flexible, and very easy to talk to, which made my author interview with him fun to do. I love that he combines a video interview with a written one, and that they are similar but not exactly the same. The platform he used to record the video was incredibly straightforward: one click and you’re good to go (that may seem like a given, but some are not that simple, and as a non-tech-savvy guest, that’s something I appreciate!). To any author looking for the opportunity to have a good conversation and share your work, I recommend reaching out to {Seven Story Publishing}. –S.M. Radjy, Author of Flight of An Orphan Thief

I recently had the pleasure of being interviewed by Josiah Akhtab to discuss my debut novel, how I began writing it, and my journey towards becoming a self-published independent author. I believe I was his first or possibly second guest for this new interview series of his at the time. I’m grateful for the opportunity.

The types of questions he asked me were essentially jumping off points for me to delve deeper into my responses, which I truly appreciated. He also shared some of his own personal experiences related to the topics of discussion.

The interview was done completely remote and he was patient with my technical difficulties regarding my laptop camera. The whole experience felt more like a casual conversation than an interview. It was fun!

After a relatively short period of time, he informed me that he had posted the interview content on YouTube and the website. He included the transcript on the website as well. If anyone gets an opportunity to connect with him, I highly recommend doing so.

He is also a writer so he is familiar and understanding about what we do. Professional, kind and helpful in communicating various available opportunities to help us promote our work. I’m happy to have encountered him. –Shiva Shahlapour, Author of We’re All We Need

My author’s interview with Seven Story Publishing went fantastically. My interactions with my host prior to the interview helped me form a better idea of how to narrate through when the questions were asked. Speaking of the questions, I thought they were fun and unique to answer, especially being an author of crime, blood and gore 🙂 I enjoyed the free-style interview style with Josiah and I feel he allowed me to show off my best self. Thank you again for having me, it was a pleasure! –Jill Danielle Nelson, Author of Murders Inside the Museum

I jumped at the chance to chat with Josiah about my debut psychological thriller, Spiral. As an author speaking with another, there was something special about connecting with someone who faces and appreciates the intricacies of storytelling: world building, crafting relatable characters, and keeping the reader on the edge of their seat.

During our conversation, I spoke about how my novel was a labor of love that spanned four-plus years, giving me the creative outlet I desperately craved. I shared how the concept came to life and why I wanted to tell a different type of psychological story-part horror and part survival-that sought to expose the tumultuous mindset of someone grappling with unfathomable events.

We also discussed the importance of getting feedback early on in the writing process; what worked, where momentum waned, what seemed out of character, etc. For me, realism and relatability are vital to creating a world where readers feel immersed and compelled to become a part of the narrative. Josiah and I agreed that reader feedback was not only insightful but also motivating. I can’t imagine writing a story any other way.

OK, let’s talk about Josiah. As I alluded to, his experience as an author and creative prowess immediately made our conversation fun and easygoing. From the moment we started talking, it was clear that we shared a passion for writing. I appreciated Josiah’s curiosity, asking thoughtful questions that made me reflect on my creative process in ways I hadn’t before. Bravo. –Danny Tse, Author of Spiral

Thanks for having me and thanks for the support! –Paul Inman, Author of Ageless

My host from Seven Story Publishing (whose name I regretfully didn’t catch because I didn’t have my glasses) was a delight. I struggle with social interactions in real life, so being on camera is a special challenge. Seven Story made the experience calm, fun, and easygoing, just two folks chatting about writing and the writing process. I’m interested in Seven Story as a company and hope the best for them. They’re a lovely team of storytellers and story enthusiasts. I appreciate their kindness and consideration. –Arlo Z. Graves, Author of Black Rose
