How To Write Every Day

How To Write Every Day

Write one page a day and you will write every day. The best writers do not spend all day writing, instead they simply write every single day. It doesn’t matter if it is one page a day or one hundred pages per day. They simply write every single day.

Take journaling for example, you don’t expect yourself to write that much every day, or even to journal every day. You simply write what is on your mind that day and leave it at that. And, if you have more to think about then you write that.

You’re not obsessing over how many words you’re able to get down that day because your level of creativity and emotional investment will be different each day.

If you have a day where you sit for three hours and write ten pages down, that’s awesome. If you have a day where you can only write about one page, maybe a page and a half before you’re mentally drained, that’s fine too.

Wanna know what both those days have in common?

You wrote. And that’s what matters.

Take the pressure off yourself to write a certain amount and focus on the most important thing which is writing in the first place. One strategy you can use is to set a minimum amount you will write per day, I suggest one page a day to start.

This way, you will be way more likely to stick to your writing than if you set the bar at five pages per day. Start with one page that way you get into the habit of writing period, then up the anti when you feel confident enough in your ability to stick to the positive habit.

Hope this helps.

  1. Just give time to write daily. One day you will become a writer.
