Our submission process at Seven Story Publishing is designed to be streamline and efficient for both the author and us as the publisher.
Our magazine is designed to handle a high volume of submissions and so we want to make this as easy as possible for everyone involved!
Submissions are Free to all!
Formatting
There is no need for special or specific formatting that is indicative of traditional magazines. Since we are 100% online and are not yet publishing physical copies, we simple copy and paste each author’s story onto WordPress and make cosmetic edits as needed so the post looks as appealing to audiences as possible.
We as Seven Story Publishing do not change any of the wording or make any type of editorial adjustments unless it is deemed obvious to us that there was a mistake in either the author’s writing or the transition from the original document to WordPress.
Otherwise, the full integrity of the author’s work is maintained throughout the submission process.
With all that being said, feel free to send in your stories and we will handle the rest!
Word Count
There is no minimum word count. However, note that we do not accept flash fiction (stories under 300 words).
All submissions must fall within the 1,500-20,000 word range.
Our upper limit is 20,000 words.
Payment
We pay authors $0.03 per word on the day of publication.
We only pay authors who are published in physical issues since we accept all online submissions.
Authors must sign the submission contract and send it in along with their submissions if they want to be paid.
No contract. No pay. No exceptions.
Publication
We will publish physical issues from June 7th to Dec. 7th every year on a rotating basis.
We will not publish physical issues during the months of January through May.

We believe every author is just as important as their story.
When you send your submissions in, please do not forget to send your social media links and author bio’s. This helps us promote you a lot better than simply posting your story as we are constantly expanding our presence and posting to more platforms.
The more people know about you, the more readily they will be able to connect with you and your work. So, remember authors. . .

Requirements for Submission
All we require is for each author to submit their story via email with the following:
- Short Story (no more than 20,000 words)
- Links to all social media (so people can find you and your work)
- Signed submission contract
